Computer Science (Network Communications)

Why choose this course?

This course enables you to specialise in networking and the processes of data communications. Professionals with skills in these areas are in demand due to the rapid growth in e-commerce and mobile multimedia computing. The Faculty is also an accredited Cisco Networking Academy.
This course is accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

What will you study?

Our single honours computing courses have a shared first year, which means it's possible to change course once you've found what really suits you. Your specialist network communications studies in Years 2 and 3 cover the core workings of networks, protocols (the set of rules used to send and receive messages), and the interdependent relationship between software and hardware. You can choose to work in industry for a year between Years 2 and 3.
